Edition 2010: Laurence Tarquin von Thomas

Laurence Tarquin von Thomas studied Film and Photography at KASK in Ghent ( Belgium ) before taking off to Hackney ( London , UK ), where he now works as a magazine contributor and freelance photographer.

“I arrived in London two years ago, my best excuse being Videology, a platform for ‘above the line’ music videos I helped create. This gave me the opportunity to get in touch with different artists, do cover promo shoots and work with different writers. I shoot on film, but I’m not a purist in the sense that I never retouch or crop any of my
stuff. I believe that a photographer has two shots at a great picture; on the spot and in the printing room. “
